Operation Identity Meeting Minutes

Meeting was called to order by Connie Martin.

Three members were present.

Minutes of April meeting were read and approved.

Treasurer’s Report

The Treasurer's Report was read and approved. A current balance of $2,257.25, which included one membership renewal and mailing expenses for Birth Mothers’ Day Potluck.

Old Business

Connie Martin provided Mark Dickerson the point-of-contact for Prime Time; Mark has an action item to pursue an interview by Prime Time of Kathie Forward’s story and further publicity for OI.

AAC dues – per phone call to AAC by Mark, he was informed that the OI membership to AAC is through the individual memberships of Connie Martin and Barbara Free. After discussion it was determined to pursue a specific organizational membership for OI. Connie has an action item to contact AAC regarding the cost. Final decision regarding this will follow discussion at the next OI meeting when more members are present.

New Business

Those present discussed the potential of a special interest meeting with emphasis on “open adoption,” specifically the process, variance in open adoption contracts, issues, etc. Connie took action item to contact potential individuals for participation; results of this will be brought to next meeting for further discussion.
